About Me
I have been working within the field of social work for over 17 years in varying capacities. I have experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, severe and persistent mental health struggles, and as a mental health therapist striving to help people navigate the daily struggles of life. As someone trained in social work, I am a systems oriented therapist in that I seek to understand the various contexts of an individual and their struggles. I will hold all of your identities, your history, your family, your communities, your beliefs, and how they all connect together as relevant in our work together. I strive to be person-centered, strengths-focused, trauma-informed, patient, kind, and humble.
My Approach
As a therapist, it is my goal to help create a foundation of trust and safety. I greatly value the importance of a personal connection and will support you showing up each session just as you are. My approach is compassionate, judgment-free, collaborative, and like your own personal cheerleader. I will help you to understand various therapeutic modalities and identify what feels most appropriate to best serve your needs. I will look to you as knowing what is truly best for yourself. I will listen and move at what pace makes sense for you. I will offer insight and resources. I will offer techniques and guidance. I will validate and challenge you. And I will continue to show up and support you every step of the way.
